I: management in event planning is just pretty much the planning aspect of the event, such as just being able to manage the whole event in a successful matter for your clients.

L:"the best ways for event and meeting planners to fill the room, not to overbook, and manage events efficiently:

- get clear insight, get clear results"
I: those ten secrets are supposedly the best ways for an event to be be planned efficiently.

L: "it is important to understand the event objectives and determine from your attendees how these goals can be best achieved."
I: your attendees are the ones who are going to define the successfulness of the event, you need to understand the objective and get to know your attendees in order to do so.

L: "the eight key to successful events is to expertly manage event logistics."
I: the logistics is what makes the event flow and makes it very organize in order to avoid any problems in the day of the event, but either way there should always be plan b.

L: "the planners organization and attention to detail will speak volumes about the quality of the event."
I: the event planner really needs to be detail oriented in order for every small detail to be successful, the guests can see if the planner was either really organized and on top of stuff or if he or she wasn't.

L: "attention to detail and prompt follow up will encourage loyalty to your brand, organizations and events."

artcl: Eleven Tips To Make Your Event a Success
L: "it's not always simply the mix of guests or food or the entertainment that makes a winning event, but the right combination of many elements."

L: "start with a checklist; list all the elements of your event:
- food

I: having a checklist and adding details as you go along and checking tasks off is going to make you get closer to the event without being stressed out and worrying about everything a week before the event.

L: "give your guests plenty of time to plan and set aside the time to attend."
I: event though it's a lot smoother when and event planner starts earlier to plan the event it is also very important to take into consideration the schedule of your events you need to give them time to prepare for this event of yours.

L: "entertainment can make or break an event."
I: besides the food the entertainment is what most people talk about the event they need to enjoy the event in order for the whole planning to be successful.

artcl: Event Planning: Steps to Planning a Successful Event

L: "The key to any good event is brainstorming what will work best."
I: As my second answer says coming up with a timeline prior to six months before the event is important. Brainstorming and going over what is your event and why is happening is very important in order for the planning to be successful.

L: Setting your goals, will help you create a successful event for the clients and guests.
I: setting an end goal to an event is what every event planner should do, that way they know what they are reaching for and are not just going in to do the planning just because it's their job.

L: "Create a timeline outlining the tasks that need to be completed each week leading up to the event including event logistics. Make deadlines for yourself and then meet them."
I: timelines are like the event planner's life for the next 6-12 months, it helps them get everything organized in the way that they won't forget to do something for the event.

artcl: How to Plan a Social Event.

L:"social events make great networking and bonding opportunities, and they come in all types and sizes."
I: Social events are different from corporate events, well the end goal to them is different. With social event an event planner has more freedom to do something creative rather than something more professional. The end goals differ as well, social events' goal is for the guests to interact and enjoy the event.

L: "Keeping things in order and assuring your guests are satisfied is the key ingredient to a fun event."
I: being organized and assuring the guests are satisfied is the key to a successful event, the guests are the judges of how successful the event it so taking encounter what they want and what they're expecting is very important. Such as the entertainment, food and the location is what an event planner has to carefully help the client pick.

L: "take notes on the pros and cons of the event for the improving for next times"
I: evaluating each event is very important , you don't want to repeat something that went wrong on your other event. Avoiding what went wrong in one event to make another better is very important, for example; during asb we evaluate each event we make to make sure next year asb doesn't do the same for the mistakes. It doesn't only help with the cons but with the pros as well, if something was successful then keep doing it.

artcl: Planning a Successful Event in Eight Weeks

L: "eight weeks is sufficient lead-time to for a small event, meaning an event of less than 300-400 people."
I: 2 months is so not enough for an event of 300 or less people, it could happen but in order for time to not be tight at the end planning prior to 6 months at leasts sounds more reasonable.

L: This article is a timeline talking about the steps needing to be taken care of for a corporate event. Since I am doing social events it don't help me as much but the timelines always consist of the same steps.

Blog #10: Self-Reflection.

Q: How do you think you are doing so far in your senior project and why?  AE, P, AP, CR, or NC
A: So far I am at a P, I honestly think I could be doing better. I have had really good contacts, met deadlines, and have really good research sources. Even though I did get an amazing first interview and a great opportunity to do my service learning at BeDazzle My Events, and obtained really good research; I feel I should do more outstanding things to meet an AE.
This is my way to make myself work harder and tell myself I am at a P, but I WILL meet the AE.

Q: What one thing do you think you have done well on and why?
A: Good contacts for both interviews and my service learning place. I have had luck to find good contacts to guide me into the right direction to answer my EQ. I am the most proud of my first interview, I learned to never wait for a response and take the initiative to go in person.

Q: What is one thing you would like to improve on and why?
A: A LOT, even though I am not as behind as others I feel I should be more on top of stuff. Like my service learning place; I have not done any hours due to scheduling problems. I need to call as soon as possible and make sure I will be able to do my service learning there, or if not look for an alternative. Besides my service learning I need to get on top of my science experiment journal and data, Ms. Melogno said she knows I can do better, and I will.
I got this (:

Blog #8: What I've Learned So Far.

Q: What have you learned how to do since you started working on your senior project?
A: I have learned to experience myself by planning events in order to become a successful event planner. Being part of ASB has made this easier, as of right now we are planning Scare Faire. It requires a lot of planning, such as planning the location of each booth, to the small details. I learned how to be more organize about planning the whole event.

Photo: This photo shows the work that has been put into the event, starting with the different layout we came up to this year, and a picture of the quad in which we label were each booth will be located. (after friday I will post a picture of the product of scare faire.)  Also the last picture shows the goodie bags that are going to be given to students that day. This are just a few pictures of the planning I have been part of Scare Faire.

Q: What research helped you to do this and how?
A: My interviewee, Dr.Fawaz Al-Malood & 10 Steps to a Fab Job as a Wedding Planner.
Both of these resources have taught me a lot. From having to have experience on planning events to the steps you need to take in order to have a successful event, not just weddings as the article says but all events. They have both taught me that planning an event is hard work and you need to be able to be organize in order to pull a successful event.
*How = What in the research specifically helped you do what you are posting as evidence

Blog #1: Senior Project Topic.

Q: What is your topic?
A: Event Planning.

Q: Why?
A: So I have changed my topic three times already, and I have come to the conclusion that my topic WILL be event planning. I will mainly focus on the celebration side of event planning such as weddings. I have always been a big fan of television shows that deal with wedding planning. I have no idea why I didn't think of event planning for my senior project when I spent most of my summer watching TLC shows about wedding planning and I even said I wanted to be a wedding planner later on in life.
I wanted my senior topic to be a topic that I can show off my creativity and a topic that people will be interested on learning about. And for some reason I couldn't come up with one until Purther help me out and asked me why I like ASB and I answered that I love being part of school events, and BAM event planning came to the picture. Since that day I know this will be my senior topic no matter what.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish after studying this topic this year?
A: I hope to learn more in detail about event planning, more than just knowing you need to have organization and be able to manage your time. I really hope I get to do my service learning with a professional event planner and for he/she to teach me the steps it takes to become a successful event planner. Maybe I will make event planning a side job later on in life.

I am proud to say that I am really looking forward to this year and learning more about my topic.
